Korean Double Jaw Surgery for Short Chin, Recessed Chin

Double Jaw + Vline Surgery

What is a Short Chin?

A short chin usually refers to cases where the lower jaw bone is receded inward, or the lower jaw is small so that it seems like there is no chin when viewing from the front and side. This is due to the chin not being positioned forward enough, which leads to the lower jaw looking small and weak. A receded chin is also not sufficiently long enough.

Short Chin Surgical Method

A short chin can be resolved either with orthognathic double jaw surgery or genioplasty. The right surgery depends on the severity and degree of the short chin. Other factors must also be taken into account, such as malocclusion. With a thorough diagnosis, a precise diagnosis must be done in order to figure out the most effective and appropriate surgical method. For example, if the patient has a short chin accompanied with also malocclusion, double jaw surgery may be needed.

How Do I Know If I Am A Good Candidate for Surgery?

1. The chin looks recessed at the front view and side view
2. The chin bone is not developed and must be advanced forward
3. You have other symptoms such as a protruding mouth, malocclusion, etc.
