Standford residents came all the way to South Korea to learn about the aesthetic and functional aspects of how double jaw surgery can treat the face and facial bones. Dr. Shin gives insight on what the surgery is like and how it can improve the face; starting from explaining facial asymmetry correction to explaining how surgery can narrow the face.

Double Jaw surgery is not simply cutting the skin, cutting the bones, and stitching up thereafter. After making incisions on the upper jaw and the lower jaw, they must be moved and fixed considering the ideal locations for the jaw joints and dental occlusion, and they must also be able to move and function continuously after the surgery. The surgery requires highly sophisticated technical skills and specialized knowledge in dentistry. Due to the high level of difficulty, this treatment cannot be performed by those who have not completed specialized dental education programs.
