1 Year Post OP
Ever since I was a child, I liked to dance
in front of people, get attention, and stand in front of cameras. So I
naturally decided on my career path this way, and what I always heard while
working was, "All you have to do is fix your mouth, with prettier bottom
jaw your face will be much better." So I went to various dentistry clinics
and received orthodontics, and as a result, I said that it is difficult to
solve perfectly with braces and I have to have surgery because my gums are
protruding. At first, I was scared to hear that I had to have surgery, and it
was a burden to pay for it, so I just have to live without surgery. However time
goes by, I get more and more concerned about my shortcomings as time goes by,
and if it's an operation I'd better do it as soon as possible! I decided to
have an operation.
I've never done surgery before, and I've
been worried about it too much, so I looked up all the information about
protruding mouth surgery regardless of youtube, Naver cafe, plastic surgery
app, etc. Since it is an important surgery to touch facial bones, I heard that
it is safer and more reliable to do it at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons than
at general plastic surgery, so I searched a lot for Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery, which are good at protruding mouth. As a result, I found out that many
people recommended the EU, ranging from the surgeon’s surgical skills to the atmosphere of the hospital, to the service, and immediately arranged a
consultation. I could see why many people recommend the EU after consulting
with them in person, and thanks to the reliable doctor and good consultant, I
decided to have surgery right away at EU!
<Surgery Day>
When I woke up, the surgery was over. I
think it's better than I expected because I don't feel dizzy and breathe right
after surgery. One side of my nose was blocked with rubber and I couldn't open
my mouth, so I could only breathe on the other side of my nose, but after
breathing like that for hours, I felt like I was going crazy. As I slept
sitting down, my butt hurt so much, I couldn't breathe well, and time seemed to
slow down, and I had a lot of thoughts to myself, and suddenly everything was
so scary and worried. I can't wait to see the time pass.
<
Post 1 Day >
The doctor removed rubber from my nose and
disinfected it, and I finally felt like I was going to buy it. On my way home
from the hospital, I bought soup, pumpkin porridge, and everything I could eat.
I tried soup because I was so hungry in the evening after using a syringe until
lunch, but it went in better than I thought and it was so delicious. I can't
believe I'm so happy with just soup. Everything else is fine, but it was hard
to keep my nose stuffy and my butt hurt so much because I was sitting and
sleeping.

Hospital told me that I could remove the
face tape, so I carefully removed the tape with water, washed his hair, and
took a bath. When I remove the tape, I realized how swollen my face was. I was
suddenly worried that it would be strange to see my face for the first time in
my life and what if my face didn't get rid of swelling, so I ordered a deswelling
tea. I felt so refreshed after taking a bath in a few days and went for a walk
in front of my house for the first time after the surgery. Since I ate a bowl
of soup and thought my stamina was not bad. It was so nice to be outside after
a long time. I am trying to comfort myself by watching the post-op reviews on
the internet when time is not going by and there are many worries. I can't eat,
so I'm hungry and it's so hard to sleep sitting down. And whenever I wear a pressure bandage, I feel pain in my molar maybe because my tooth is pressed too
much. I should ask the hospital tomorrow!
<
Post OP 5 Days >
It seems like my face is getting less
swollen day by day, but I still have a yellow bruise around my lips. Time heals
all wounds. I'm eating everything I can eat because I'm getting more and more
tips on how to eat, and my nasal congestion has improved a lot, so I'm able to
breathe comfortably! However, sleeping while sitting still hurts my back a lot
and wakes me up in the middle. I've tried brushing my teeth, but it's hard
because I haven't opened my mouth yet. But I'm glad it's more affordable than
1-2 days after the surgery.
<
Post OP 7 Days >
Today is the first day of my week, so I
went to the hospital for the first time. These days, cheesecakes and changing new
care in a blender are very delicious. I got disinfecting and the doctor told me that
after a week I can go remove my stitches. This feels great! I felt good because
my friends came over to my house and told me the surgery result is good even with
swelling and that I would look so pretty if my swelling went down. I can't wait
for another week to pass. These days, I go to the hospital every day and get a deswelling
laser, which seems to be effective!! The swelling seems to be going down well
from day today. And these days, I am not sick at all and I just can't eat.
<
Post OP 9 Days >
I think the swelling has gone down a lot!!
But I still have a U-shaped jaw, so I can't wait to lose all swelling on my
face. These days, I eat a lot of porridge, soup, pumpkin juice, chocolate milk,
cheesecake, and soy milk every day, but I want to eat something else every
day. Whenever I eat food I feel like
food gets stuck in the wafer of my front teeth, but no matter how much I
gargle, it doesn't seem to clean my front teeth. My front teeth are a bit numb,
so I'm scared to touch them. Am I going to be alright??
<
Post OP 12 Days >
These days, I'm laid down and fall asleep. I slept very well for over 10 hours today. I'm worried because my chin is still around and my philtrum is swollen. And if relax my lips I can't close my mouth, so I can see my front teeth. Is it because they get swollen? Is it because I have big front teeth? I don't have any pain and it's a little bit of a living, so I'm worried about it.
<Post
OP 15 Days>
I went to the hospital yesterday and remove stitches! I was a little scared because there were so many reviews that the stitches out were really painful, but it was bearable, and rather feel refresh! And the most important thing to me was eating... When I asked the doctor, I was so happy that I could chew soft food like noodles and porridge gently. I had a lot of questions about the surgery to the doctor and he responded to me well! On my way home, I bought tiramisu and noodles so I can eat them, but it was awkward to chew them after a long time that I did not chew any food and I still had wafers on, so I just swallowed porridge. Also, I am allowed to brush my teeth now! I feel really good!
<Post
OP 22 Days>
It seems that up to two weeks after the
operation is a crisis point, after that time flies really fast. I visited the hospital yesterday and it was great that the doctor took out the wafer because
the progress was good. I love to take out wafer since talking and eating became
more comfortable. For the first time today, I ate shrimp porridge, beef boiled
down in soy sauce and dried pollack salad at Bonjuk and it was so delicious.
LOL My stomach is smaller than before my surgery, so I'm full even if I eat a
little bit. I'm on a diet now! And these days, I think I lost too much muscle,
so I am doing squats little by little at home. Until the day I can dance again!
Fighting!
<Post
OP 31 Days>
I wanted to eat a proper meal today, so I
ate stock soup of bone and stew meat, galbi dumplings, and even cake. I had a
little cramp in my chin when I ate galbi dumplings, so I cut it into smaller
pieces and it was fine. I'm so happy that I can eat better than before, but I
think I'm going to gain weight again soon. Before the surgery, if I applied
lipstick all over my lips, my mouth looked more prominent and protruded, so I
could never do it. After the surgery, it's great that I can put on full lips as
much as I want. I think it's getting more and more natural as the days go by!
<Post
OP 38 Days>
I checked the progress with the doctor and
the next day finally! I put on braces. The director told me that I can exercise
now and eat everything regardless of food. After I put on my braces, the pain
started again. I had braces on and I heard that I couldn't eat for 2-3 days
because I was really sick. I didn't get sick right after I put them on. I felt
more uncomfortable when I wore wafers. What? That's okay. I thought... I've had
a throbbing toothache since the night.
I thought braces would be over in a year, which was frustrating because the doctor told me that I need for two more years. Still, I am amazed and proud to see myself wearing braces after more than a month of surgery. Whenever I take selfies these days, I think I made the right choice for the surgery. I hope my mouth gets more natural soon!
<Post
OP 45 Days>
I got used to the pain of braces little by
little, so I ate the chicken stew, bulgogi, Spicy Stir-fried Chicken, and so on for
a week. I think I'm gaining weight again. I registered for Pilates to exercise. The
doctor told me to be careful with my front teeth, so I'm going to exercise as
carefully as possible. These days, everyone told me that I am so pretty and
complimenting my looks a lot, so my self-esteem is going up. I'm so happy! Oh!
And I'm starting to dance again these days, and I think every day that I'm glad
to have surgery because I feel so confident standing in front of the camera
while dancing.
<Post OP 52 Days>
Right after the surgery, I felt regretful
several times because I had a lot of discomforts and couldn't eat well. Now I
really have no regrets and I'm so satisfied with the result of the surgery. Time
heals all wounds. In the past, I was busy putting my mouth in photoshop after
taking pictures, but now I do not need to touch my mouth. And these days, I
have many good opportunities in my work, and I am realizing what I am achieving
dreamed of by one by one. Every day is so amazing and happy thanks to EU! If
I have to pick one thing I'm worried about these days, my upper lip is still a
little numb but I can feel that sensation has come back J
<Post
OP 59 Days>
These days, I can't remember my face before surgery since I feel like I was born with his face. My friends say they can't remember my face before surgery anymore. Everything is fine, but sometimes I get pain in my teeth once in a while. I don't think it's because of the surgery and it's the pain that comes from braces! I brush my teeth every day and am getting used to my braces !!!
<Post
OP 66 Days>
I am living like before the surgery such as playing in the water, dancing, and exercising while being careful about the front teeth!! These days, my friends say that my faces are too small, so I feel good. From a few days ago, if I touch the left chin, I feel a little swollen, so I am very worried that I want to ask the doctor when I visit EU.
<Post
OP 80 Days>
I'm already post-op three months into
surgery in ten days! I cannot believe that time flies so fast. I've been eating
so well these days that my cheeks are getting chubby. "I'm doing so well
without any inconvenience." As time goes by, I think my face is changing
little by little, perhaps because of the fact that my face is getting settled
down. I can't wait to see the doctor for three months to check up on me if my
bones are recovering well!!!
<Post OP 127 Days>
These days, I seem to forget that I had
surgery. It is also possible to apply lip tint and move lips left and right,
which were not done immediately after surgery. Nothing is uncomfortable at all.
But it's easier to chew right than left, so I kept chewing like that without
realizing it, and the orthodontist said that if I don't chew left and right
balanced, my teeth will go wrong. So I'm trying to chew balanced these days. I
didn't know after the surgery, but people around me said my face became very
small. Is it because of the protruding mouth? Whenever I hear compliments about
my small face, I feel so good. Sometimes I am surprised to see pictures before
surgery. Maybe it's because I'm used to seeing myself in surgery now, but the
picture before the surgery is rather unfamiliar and I don't want to see it.

Post OP 158 Days >
Not long ago, when I was hanging out with my
friend, my friend looked at me from the side and said, 'It's the best thing
you've ever done in your life to have a protruding mouth surgery. LOL. That's
so true! After the surgery, I'm so happy to see my work going so well and I can
be confident everywhere. I'm so proud of myself for enduring all the hard
times!! As time goes by, my face keeps changing, so I'm looking forward to what
I'll look like it when I'm done with my braces.

It's been almost post-op 7 months. I can't believe
it 😱 I recently went
to the hospital to check my post-op for 6 months and the doctor said that I would
no longer visit here unless I had a pin removal surgery. I'm glad I am
doing well without any side effects.🙏🏻 I heard that it's better to have a pin removal
surgery about two years in advance, so I'll have to think about it a little bit
more! I'm a little scared to get surgery again!

I can't think
of anything when I had a hard time after the surgery. I'm so satisfied with the
result of the surgery! If I have to pick one of the best things in my life,
which is getting protrusion surgery!

Everything is going well during my braces
procedure. I recently got 3 of my wisdom teeth removed! The orthodontist told
me that braces typically take 2 years. It’s only been 6 months for me but I was
told that the space from my tooth extraction is closing up already which is
pretty fast. I was really happy to hear that. When I finish my braces
procedure, I will probably live without remembering that I had surgery. I want
to be able to eat curry..

After one more month, it’ll already be a
year since my surgery. Time passes by quickly, I can’t believe it! Before
surgery, I’ve been researching online and on youtube to see if there were any
side effects of surgery. It seems like it was only yesterday when I was worried
about that. Contrary to the side effects that I was worried about, I did not
experience any of it and have been doing well. Not too long ago, someone who
was about to get surgery at EU sent me a message on Instagram to ask about how
I’m doing after getting surgery. They wanted to know if there were any problems
after the surgery. It feels like I’m looking back to how I was before surgery.
I know how nerve-wracking it can be before surgery so I’m happy that I was able
to help that person.

Year Post OP>
It’s already been one year since my
surgery! Time flies by very quickly. It feels like the year during my recovery
was like a dream. I was able to challenge myself to do stuff that I couldn’t do
before surgery and my confidence is much better. My life seems better as well.
Before surgery, I would stay up all night because I was worried. I wonder what
would it be like if I didn’t get surgery. It’s one of the best decisions that I
ever made. I’m not experiencing any negative side effects and no pain. I just wish
I can get my braces removed soon! Thank you very much Dr. Shin! ❤ I’m
very happy!
