Before & After: Lower Jaw + Vline Surgery
What is Lower Jaw Surgery?
Like its name, lower jaw surgery is only performed on the lower jaw, unlike double jaw surgery which is the movement of both the upper and lower jaws. Similar to double jaw surgery, either the SSRO and IVRO methods can be used during surgery. The SSRO method will require fixation with pins while the IVRO does not require fixation. The healing time for lower jaw surgery will be similar to double jaw surgery: at least 6 months to see the final results. Lower jaw surgery is not to be confused as genioplasty or vline surgery, as genioplasty only operates on the chin. Vline surgery is the reduction of the jaw angle and chin (jawline reduction). Lower jaw surgery is the movement of the lower jaw as a whole.
