 Lantern Jaw Surgery

A lantern jaw is caused by excessive growth of the lower jaw, which is when the lower jaw protrudes forward or is long below. Since the lantern jaws accompany malocclusion between the upper and lower teeth, double-jaw surgery is necessary, and if only jawbone is protruded and the joint is correct, the genioplasty and facial contouring surgery can be done.

 

Lantern-jaw self-diagnosis

 

•          The lower teeth occlude in a straight line with the upper teeth or come forward.

•          It is hard to cut noodles with your front teeth.

•          The underside of the face looks longer than the middle part.

•          The middle part of the face looks sucken.

•          There is a leak of pronunciation.

•          Tip of the chin is ahead of the lips.
