EU with the world
Patient from America
Why
did I get double jaw surgery?
I've always been self conscious of my side
profile and covered a lot of my face with my hair. Because of this, I didn't
like to take pictures and I just got tired of worrying about it. So, I started
looking into jaw surgery.
Why
did you choose EU?
I saw many reviews about Korean plastic surgery but I didn't want to have my surgery by a plastic surgeon. Whilst looking into clinics specialized in maxillofacial surgeries; I came across EU. After my consultation, I chose EU because they were able to make
me feel confident about many aspects of the surgery; Dr. Kim went through
multiple options to improve my facial profile and he also made me feel comfortable
during the consultation. I felt he was very knowledgeable and therefore,
trustworthy.
When I woke up: my vision was extremely
blurry, I was shaking so much and I was freezing I think it took me around 25
minutes to calm down/warmup and then my shivering subsided. For the first 6 hours post op, I was not able
to drink water or sleep. It was very hard to stay awake and I had quite a bit
of blood dribble. I still do but it's a lot less. Now that I'm able to drink
water I'm feeling so much better. I'm still having trouble sleeping because my
throats still gets very dry. When it's too dry I wake up. This happens about
every 15 minutes when I'm asleep.
Day 3
Swelling much more, feels like my face is going
explode. At night my nose became clogged again making it hard to bite on my
wafer like I'm supposed to. My appetite has come back but that just means I'm
feeling hungry all the time. Right ear still occasionally throbs. Definitely
had the hardest time sleeping on this night.Day 7
Feeling just about the same as yesterday.
My chin is starting to be a little more defined which I'm happy about. My ear
throbs less but is starting to ring a little. I noticed that blood is only
still coming from my left nostril instead of both. Sleeping was a little hard
last night because of indigestion. My lip shape seems more normal now.
Day 10
Noticed my jaw is more acclimated to the
wafer. When I first wore the wafer it felt unnatural. Becoming more confident
in the results. I can smile without my teeth a tiny bit more each day. Talking
is not really a problem besides the spitting which is caused by the wafer.
Day 14
Feeling the same as the day before. I
notice that I only have full control of half of my lips but it's getting better
every day. So far, I'm very pleased with my side profile. I can see that I have
the angle that I asked for. I am excited to get my stitches out next week so that
hopefully I can begin to smile.
Day 16
My left ear has been throbbing a lot today.
There's a lot of pressure on it for some reason. I'm not wearing my wafer
anymore and it's been nice. Now that I've eaten dinner and time has passed I'm
already getting more used to my bite. I was worried my bite wasn't going to
align but it does! I'm still excited about my results although the little
swelling I still have left makes me look kind of like an old woman. Still stiff
and I can't wait until I'm able to smile!
Day 22
My mouth feels better without the screws
and stitches. The screws felt like food got caught in my mouth. I can smile
with maybe half a centimeter of my teeth showing. Still feeling stiff around my
mouth and lower cheeks. Neck stretches have been helping with any pain I have
with opening my mouth. I'm really enjoying my side profile although I can't say
the same about my front. My front profile is still bumpy around my jawline from
the swelling so it looks a little weird. I have a good feeling about my smile
though!
